Biographical

Jeff Morris has dedicated himself full time to providing mediation services since 2004. He has extensive experience in mediating over 3,000 cases, including complex, multiparty commercial, real estate and tort litigation disputes.

In 2018, Jeff received a CEDR Accreditation,  internationally recognized as the standard of excellence for mediators from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, London, UK

Jeff is known to be persistent and hard-working and takes an active role by sharing his thoughts and assessment appropriately,  focusing on the "key" issues necessary to reach a deal.  He has the important qualities required in a mediator, such as the ability to understand complex issues,  problem-solve,  trustworthiness, and strong inter-personal skills.  He is adept at bringing litigants and parties with divergent points of view together — yet  in a balanced and fair manner.

Jeff is in high demand as a mediator because, in addition to proven mediation skills, he has extensive subject matter expertise in a number of areas that enhances his effectiveness as a mediator. Those areas include real estate (including professional liability, landlord-tenant, title insurance, mortgages and environmental), commercial law (including many types of business disputes),  insurance law, construction, condominiums, employment disputes, property damage claims,  transportation, construction, bankruptcy and wills and estates.

With the suspension of in person mediations in 2020, Jeff moved his mediation practice  entirely to an online format using Zoom, Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams. Jeff recently co-authored an in-depth publication for the ADR Institute of Ontario about online video mediations and understands how adapt the process to achieve results comparable to in person cases.
